Building this new website

Sitting in my car waiting for Penella to finish at the dentist, filling the time by writing this blog post… The main reason for building this website is to try and encapsulate and explain my art practice which may seem confusing at first. Due to the fact that I've done a lot of large scale realism murals and also small scale abstract work. How do these two things fit together to make up my practice as an artist?

Firstly I think it is to do with technique and my love for developing and perfecting new techniques. My realism techniques focus on how can I paint a large image and make it look real… This has led to me studying oil painting and photography and combing these influences into large scale work using freehand spray paint. The gradient reveal technique I have developed in my abstract work may look totally different but in essence does share a lot from the photography side, sharp lines against soft focus and oil painterly blending of colours and gradients is something I'm always working towards.
